iOS7 3708 122x150 iOS 7 beta 7 slips in before 2013 public release date

iOS 7 beta 7 and any subsequent beta downloads which follow it now have a more clearly defined timeframe for their release and completion. The launch date for the new iPhone is locked in for September 10th, and even though it won’t shop for another week or two, iOS 7 will ship alongside it. That gives Apple somewhere between four and six weeks to finish up its iOS 7 development work, which is already five beta test versions deep, with iOS 7 beta 7 forthcoming. That’ll make the seventh beta crucial for late stage iPhone and iPad app compatibility testing.

Apple still has some work to do, or at least some already-finished work to unveil, with iOS 7 beta 7. iTunes Radio is still in progress, Maps 2.0 has yet to fully incorporate any of the three small mapping apps which Apple has recently acquired, and other core apps still appear far from finished as of the current beta 6. But with iOS 7 beta 7 likely the final beta version, Apple may go into high gear in terms of rolling out the features and apps it’s been sitting on.

That means iOS 7 beta 7 may be the best glimpse into what the new iPhone era will offer ahead of its September launch.
